Maybe thats why you became gay over time? Everyone likes to root for the underdog... and in your household gays were an underdog?

KagomJack 2006-09-08 11:09 PM

I'd highly doubt that.

Atnas 2006-09-09 09:12 AM

More likely in his household gays were persecuted. Though some of the nicer Christain/Catholic groups accept gay people. I know I do, because I was raised Roman Catholic.

Willkillforfood 2006-09-11 12:13 AM

Wait ...religious people accepting homosexuals? Where have you been? "Hey queer, you're going to hell" is the general attitude =P.

wilma 2006-09-11 10:33 PM

Sorry, try again. Being part of the United Church I can say that we're pretty well accepting of anyone. A few years back, we had a female minister at our church. Take that archaic misogynist traditions!

For the record though, she was boring as hell.

Influenced by the WBC retards, eh?

Can homosexuality run in familys?

Lenny 2006-09-12 01:49 PM

First things first - how many said families would there actually be?

Secondly, if a child grows up in a homosexual environment, then there's probably a very good chance that they themselves would develop homosexual tendencies.

Nuture, not nature.

Kaneda 2006-09-12 10:08 PM

Environment, up bringing, certain incidents and encounters in ones life at certain stages of development. It may not be the persons choice but it is of a mental nature.

Lenny 2006-09-13 10:26 AM

Erm, 20 past 5.

(I think I got away with it!)

Grav 2006-09-13 12:08 PM

Saying it is nurture and not nature is basically just saying that you are outright guessing. Taking that guess as fact is being defiantly ignorant. The answer is simple: nobody knows yet. Saying anything else is just being outright rude to gay people. Are you gay? Are you a sociologist that studies gay people?

No? Then shutup.

Lenny 2006-09-13 12:14 PM

I love you too, Grav.

There's got to be at least a smidgeoon of nurture in it.

Demosthenes 2006-09-13 01:12 PM

I don't think it's a choice. There was a really interesting article in Seed Magazine a few months ago about this, if anyone wants to check it out.

NonGayMan 2006-09-14 08:05 PM

There are things in this world that cannot be explained. For most people it is probably not a choice. I don't think any nongays (that's my word! :nerd: ) would know for sure. Anyone that calls it a disease is ignorant though or does not truly know what a disease is. It's not really a mental disorder either in my opinion.

i didnt read any of this but to be completly honest with you and being understandable and fair i think that homosexuality as a teenager or young adult has something to do with the way you grew up. If you grew up being maybe mollested or if you grew up around a lot of girls and they always talked about guys or something idk. For instance im reading this book titled America. It is about this child named America who was born into a crack-head family, his mom was a crack whore. So he was given away to like a foster home. Then he went to visit his mom one day when he was maybe 7 or 8 and he stayed for like 3 months because his mom kept doin drugs and stuff and just left 3 kids home alone for days on end. Finally police showed up and he got brought back to his old fosterhome and there was a guy there that like gave him vodka and coke and stuff and tried to get him to watch porn with him and then raped him, i'm not done with the book but this kid is older now and keeps dreaming about 'dicks' and 'tits' and is very confused about his sexuality.

Okay basically thats WHY i believe it just depends how you were brought up. BTW the book is titled America; once again; and the author is something frank.

slaynish 2006-09-16 09:52 AM

KagomJack 2006-09-16 11:58 AM

Well, I know a lot of people like Coke and they're straight :o

Your theory FUCKING FAILS.

Sum Yung Guy 2006-09-16 12:08 PM

Are you upset because you found out your dads are brothers?
