I love seeing the cowboys get beat, especially during the first game in their new stadium.

Fucking Romo. That guy may as well just underhand lob the ball he throws so many picks.

I was glad to see the Pats lost though. They shouldn't have won the first game to begin with.

agreed. I think everyone that's not a Pats fan is always happy to see them lose. Haha. As for Homo, I think he'll progress more as he does every year and turn out to be a pretty solid QB by the end of the season. He's always so wishy-washy and can't really be counted on. Now on the other hand, Byron Leftwich seems to be having some good games so far and might take off this season, watch out! Hahaha.

Thanatos 2009-09-22 12:55 PM

Pats should be 0-2. Yet they're still rated as one of the top teams in various Power Rankings. NFL analysts are idiots.

D3V 2009-09-22 02:25 PM

Not trying to tute my own team's horn, but Jaguars.com's Senior Editor puts together a good list every week i'd say, pretty realistic. He has New England at #8.

http://www.jaguars.com/news/powerrankings.aspx

Take a look.

Thanatos 2009-09-22 04:42 PM

He has the Colts at #14.. yeah no bias there at all.

Just because the Colts are 2-0 doesn't mean they've been playing like a 2-0 team. They barely beat out the Jags, and got dominated against Miami and somehow once again found a lucky victory. I guess sometimes it's better to be lucky than good, huh?

Thanatos 2009-09-23 01:26 PM

That's what good teams do. They find a way to win when things aren't going their way.

Colts were lucky that Miami's D had a breakdown. That's all. Peyton noticed they had a breakdown, and the Colts just happened to win. That's all that ever happens with lucky victories. Luck.

I'm excited for week 3!

Which is why he is one of the best QBs of all time. The Colts will continue to be a good team as long as this guy is the QB. There's no luck about having 12+ win seasons 5 years in a row. NFL record, btw.

Titusfied 2009-09-24 11:49 AM

Can't argue that point. At what point does "he's lucky" just turn into "he's a difference maker"? I'm not even that blind D3V. Sure, the Colts aren't playing very good right now, but they are still finding ways to win, which is all that really matters. If the Eagles don't win this week (next to impossible, right?), I will never post on Zelaron again (except to maybe say bye in this thread).

D3V 2009-09-24 11:55 AM

I only say luck on last week's game. Learn to read. As I said, they were dominated the entire game and found a way to win. They got DOMINATED. That does not mean they are good. They looked like the Dolphin's bitch a very large amount of the game and had some sort of record low for time of posession, amirite? That's why I say luck. I'm not saying Peyton isn't a good QB, but just this year so far and especially last week's game the team as a whole were lucky.

Titusfied 2009-09-25 09:56 AM

okay.

Thanatos 2009-09-25 11:40 AM

So, the Jags going to go 0-3, D3V? Houston's offense looked pretty strong against Tennessee last week.. I donno if you guys will be able to contain them. Matt Schaub to Andre Johnson all day long.

D3V 2009-09-25 11:44 AM

Jacksonville is going to outscore them. And I still believe Jacksonville's secondary is much stronger than Tennessee's. Houston has issues running the ball and the Jags have been great at stopping it, so all that needs to really be focused on is stopping the pass, which is what the Jags did in Indy, for the most part. It's still early, we'll see how things pan out. Of course I'm not wanting the Jags to go 0-3, but I'm not ruling it out either.

With the type of play and numbers Jaguars have been posting thus far I would count them out too, if I wasn't their fan. It's easy to look at the mistakes without focusing on the good things they've been doing. They're going to continue all year getting better and better. Just wait.

HandOfHeaven 2009-09-28 08:13 AM

So did anyone else see the Vikings' last drive? I was about to flip out and break a table and then Favre squeezes out one of the best plays of the season. That was a fun game to watch.

D3V 2009-09-28 09:32 AM

That was an excellent game for 'ole Favre. I'm suprised too they actually managed a finish like that, I figured they would've sputtered. They might be a force this season over the longhaul, but it's still early. I was suprised at how well Peyton played last night, and gladly so being that he's on my fantasy football team :)

*Oh, and my prediction was accurate.

Mutant Couch 2009-09-28 10:02 AM

That was a fantastic game all around. I can't even be mad about the 49ers loss as they looked good throughout and the Vikings' last drive was quite pretty.

Unlike the Steelers vs. Bengals game. What a mess. Holmes was awful. The Steelers have yet to really look good this season. That loss, however was just terrible. It's not even like the Bengals went out and played great or even all that well really.

Thanatos 2009-09-28 10:49 AM

REALLY nice throw/catch by Favre and his receiver. The old man still has it in him. I heard Vikings fans were booing earlier and then Favre delivers something like that. STFU and eat a dick, fans. You will NEVER hear Colts fans booing their home team.

BTW, Colts lookin pretty sexy after that game last night. 3-0 leading the division, although did you expect any less? lol @ all the "EXPERT ANALYSTS" that said the Colts would suck without Tony Dungy and Marvin Harrison. Although, I'm worried about D. Freeney... he's having an MRI today and last night he said he "felt something pop" - not good. :(

Titusfied 2009-09-28 11:58 AM

Definitely not good for Freeney...

MJD looked awesome yesterday, so congrats D3V. I thought I recalled you also claiming that Byron Leftwich was going to be good this year... Well, he was just demoted to backup to Josh Johnson... That's pathetic.

Eagles looked solid as hell too. Granted it was against KC, but they still did it without McNabb OR Westbrook. Impressive to me.

I too have Peyton, and he single handedly should get me the fantasy win this week. Thanks Thanatos!

Thanatos 2009-09-28 12:47 PM

I was talking to a guy from Philly over XBL that said Kobb (Kolb?) sucks and KC would dominate them. I responded with Umm... you're playing KC, anybody QB can beat them. Why do I know more about Philly football than a Philly fan? lol

And yeah no prob Titusfied. I called Peyton before the game and told him he needed to have a superb game to give Titusfied a win in his fantasy league. Looks like he listened.

Of course not, you guys all have the same level of homerism, which makes me jealous that Jacksonville does not.

Sorry the "hahahahah" at the end of an obviously bullshit statement wasn't enough sarcasm for you. I'll add tags next time.

I'd tend to think that Pittsburgh may be on a downward turn. Willie Parker I still believe is on his own downswing and may be unable to bounce back from injuries as fast as he has before, he's getting old. It's a young mans game, right?

osmoses-jones 2009-09-28 02:08 PM

my god every good team from last year became bad this year: steelers, titans, miami.
man i love desean jackson from eagles he rock i ahve him in my fantasy league. I have a feeling manning will get this year mvp award he is in beast mode every game this year.

D3V 2009-09-28 02:42 PM

Manning had a good game against a rough secondary. Arizona played nothing like they did against Jacksonville. I really wish they would have just stepped up, but noooo.

Thanatos 2009-09-28 02:49 PM

At home in a nationally telivised game, too. Owned.

D3V 2009-09-28 02:51 PM

Just one of the many reasons I love the NFL, unpredictability.

Oh and i'm going to the game on Sunday, against Tennessee. Hopefully Jags can shut that run down and get some good rhythm going again on offense. Do you think it would be in bad taste to walk around holding up a bloody McNair jersey?

Titusfied 2009-09-30 03:01 PM

My fantasy football name is Steve McMurder.

And I obviously don't read your posts that well since I disregarded the "hahahaha" at the end. I simply must have saw the Leftwich comment on a skim.

Do you even have to ask that question?

HandOfHeaven 2009-09-30 07:32 PM

I'm excited for MNF when the Packers visit the Vikings in the dome. It won't be near as exciting as the game in Lambeau though.

It is going to be exciting watching the Packers pick apart the Vikings secondary.

Thanatos 2009-10-01 10:39 AM

And it will be exciting to see AP running all over the entire Packers team.

D3V 2009-10-01 12:57 PM

More than likely. This is the most depressing shit I have to continually read.

Weaver: Jaguars might play a game a year in Orlando:

Declaring that Jacksonville can't be a viable NFL city selling 46,000 tickets a game, Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver said Wednesday that the team might start playing a regular-season game in Orlando each year if the league expands the regular season to 17 or 18 games.
Ouch. It sucks to be surrounded by a bunch of arrogant idiots in Jacksonville. Nobody seems to be able to afford tickets, and they can't afford tickets because they don't have a good job, and they don't have a good job because they don't have a good education, and they don't have a good education because our schools are horrible, and our schools are horrible because the leadership in this state is corrupt, and the corruption continues because the state is run by Republicans, which is how i've come to the conclusion to blame Jaguars ticket sales on Republicans, as a whole.

Thanatos 2009-10-01 02:24 PM

Republicans are to blame for everything.

That does really suck, though, that you can't even watch home games because they're blacked out. I remember living in Arizona back when the Cardinals were shitty and most of the games were blacked out; it sucked. I don't feel like they should black out ANY games just because there are 200 or so emtpy seats. Seems unfair.. but I guess that's business for ya.

Support a real team. :)

D3V 2009-10-01 03:00 PM

I am supporting a real team, jackass. Things will get better. The fans around this area are very bandwagon-esque. When the Jags went through the playoffs back in the day, everyone was a fan.

I'm really looking forward to week 4. I wish we would've started a Zelaron fantasy league.

Titusfied 2009-10-01 05:28 PM

That sucks. It sucks because there are obviously die hard fans down there, but there are mostly fair weather fans, and it's affecting people like you. I'd kill something if that ever happened in Philly. Then again, that will never happen, not in my lifetime at least. I've been on the waiting list for season tickets for over 9 years now, and when I checked my status prior to this season, I was still over 30,000 in line.. I STARTED around 60,000 9 YEARS ago.... WTF?

Grav 2009-10-01 08:42 PM

Are you serious? I would never wait that long for anything. My mind is actually blown right now.

Yeah, we have the opposite situation. I would love for the seats to be sold out that way I could pick and choose what games to go to and scalp tickets or whatever. I think all of the Gator fans that live around here have a hard time following two teams, especially with the fairweather-ness.

But that does suck for you there isn't any way you can get other tickets or what? You guys have a PSL system too don't you? Dish out some more money and you can get yours, haha.

That seems like an intelligent way to gain fans, by not airing the game locally. Good marketing strategy:rolleyes:

Must be the republicans

Yes, greed does play a role in this decision. They say it helps drive ticket sales, but if people aren't watching the game in the stands or on the TV then general interst of the team could diminish. All the Jaguars have to do is start winning and issues like this will dissolve. The problem is they lost over 22,000 Season ticket holders over the offseason, which is a terrible number. Everyone blames the "economy"

HandOfHeaven 2009-10-02 11:23 AM
