Nice. I ran XCountry in highschool.. I used to be a friggin' twig in school between that and swimming. Once college hit, no more running or swimming, just a lot drinking, eating, and lifting which led to me gaining 50+ pounds freshman year. I've been the same ever since, so I guess that was where I was meant to be?

You guys should do some Army physical training everyday. It will help in the long run.

im a golfer that drinks, so that means if i dont work out, i will gain weight. So i do alot of lifting and cardio work, whether its biking, swimming, or running, everyday. I usually take one day off a week if im soar or just going out, but like Sum said, working out is great in the long run

Back in high school I was in the best shape of my life. I captained Varsity XC, Varsity Skiing (Race Team), and Varsity Track in the same year. Placed 2nd in New Englands in XC as well. Unfortunatly, college took quite the toll on my physical fitness, and I've gained no small amount of weight and am yet to lose it.

Wow, what kind of times did you run? My best year was Sophomore year, and I ran on average around 16:50 in the 3.1 mile. After that I became a serious pot head and quit XC.

u and steve should get together and smoke cause thats all he does apparently- he would enjoy the company

JRwakebord 2005-08-23 12:52 PM

Haha for the 3.1 my times had a pretty big range, mainly because every course we ran was incredibly hilly. Hooray for New England. I did the 400 (quarter mile) in 52.3 seconds though.

Titusfied 2005-08-23 01:45 PM

Yeah, I hear that. Our state course was a beast of a hilly course, where the first half mile was literally like a 15 degree hill slope... The best I ran there was 17:23, and the course record is like 15:23, but after that, only a handful of people have actually ever broken 16:00..

I wasn't fast, but I could maintain my speed. I'd be surprised if I broke 60 seconds in the 400 meter.

Just plain running sucks. I do it cause i have to, but it sucks. id much rather be running after a soccer ball, basketball, etc. I would run after the golf ball, but that would be to far of a sprint for me.

Damn Titus, sounds like you were pretty damn good. Our highschool team got 3rd in the state this year mainly due to my recruiting before I quit. (Yes i take credit for that) It's the best our school has ever done in XC.

JRwakebord 2005-08-24 11:44 AM

Yah, course records can be a bitch. I remember at New Englands, both the kid who won and I both beat the old course record. Unfortunatly, I didn't get any recognition at all because he got first. If it had been any other race, I would have held the record though. I was pissed.
