When the Jaguar FIRST came out, it cost 799.99. I honestly remember this going to Toys R' Us a couples days before Christmas to pick up my Sega CD. I'm serious 799.99. If I must I can also scan the Gamepro in which numerous systems were reviewed and prices for each system were given. I think it cost that much only because it was "supposedly" 64 bits, and most of the systems at that time period were 16. I always thought it was funny because the 3D0 (which I personally felt was an overall better system) was selling for only 600. Either way you were getting ripped. Oh, and Neo Geo's aren't selling for that much now a days. If you're interested it would be best for you to get a Neo Geo CD off of Ebay. You can probably find one in the two hundred dollar price range. Don't mess with the cartridge formatted systems at ALL. The games go for 200 dollars and up! Games for the Neo Geo CD however can be cheap or expensive, but I have many sites where you can download the rom onto a CD, and it works perfectly on the Neo Geo CD system. Eh... the Neo Geo games have aged now. If you've been playing Capcom verus SNK 2, then go back to any of the fighting games on Neo Geo... you'll know what I'm talking about. Besides the best Neo Geo games are on Saturn. Import Saturn that is. Grap one of those for a little under a hundred dollars, and treat yourself to some X Men versus Streetfighter, Marvel Superheroes versus Streetfighter, Radiant Silvergun, Samurai Showdown 3 and 4, the list goes on.
