It CAN be a frame of reference if you don't know of the area outside of the disk. If the disk is the only space you know, there is no way to test another frame of reference.

And exactly as you stated... it's already been proven forever ago that Earth rotates around the sun, so anyone who believes otherwise is lacking knowledge.

Oh my God. He thinks his (high-school?) brain has just disproved a hundred years of established science. Take back the phail title and give him the dunce title!!

Draco2003 2008-10-05 05:28 PM

I was never trying to "disprove" anything other than different perspectives can reach different results! In which case my point is proven. I'm not saying that Earth is the center of the universe or anything.

FatIonSurged 2008-10-05 05:30 PM

Jesus Christ, that perspective is not a proper perspective. It's an accelerated frame of reference. How a 22-year old can have such a flawed misunderstanding of basic physics is beyond me.

Do you read my whole post, or just see that I posted and assume that I am spewing non-sense?

After the post which suggests that an accelerated frame of reference is a proper frame of reference, the assumption that your spewing utter inane drivel is not a bad one.

FatIonSurged 2008-10-05 05:34 PM

You realize from the perspective that you advocate the laws of physics PHAIL to hold, right? Also, the view that the Earth revolves around the sun has to do with the planet's spin. Even if the sun revolved around the earth, you don't actually think it does it once a day, do you? Jesus Christ, has our education system failed that bad?

Draco2003 2008-10-05 05:36 PM

Apparently you don't understand perception very well...
I am not going to continue and argue a point that I know is false, because I don't know how else to defend it. I was just stating that obviously we didn't always think that Earth revolves around the sun.

Lol, I'm just having fun with you by being intentionally dense. I did read what you said beforehand. Anyway, thanks for the entertainment.

Whats inertia?

WetWired 2008-10-05 07:39 PM

Inertia is the tendency of a body to continue moving in its present direction at its present speed
