Asamin, just stop posting stuff like that.

I'm going to make one tomorrow and see if you guys like it better.

And what if I am? What then?

Then you would be a dumbass. But that's just hypothetic.

But, about the favicon, which is what this thread is about, let's set a deadline on favicon submissions for Wednesday, 23-4-08, 12AM GMT. After that, let's have a week long poll.

Lenny 2008-04-21 09:31 AM

I prefer the second over the first, and agree that we need a Favicon.

---

I might try my hand at a Favicon design, which will most probably be based on your second one.

In Mozilla, if you click the second one, it'll appear on the tab as if it actually was the favicon for that site. It looks pretty neat and I got used to it.

D3V 2008-04-21 10:20 AM

I like it!

Coffeedagger 2008-04-21 01:39 PM

I like the original alot much much better than the second one. Very nice work.

Asamin 2008-04-21 01:48 PM

I was angry that day. Nothing I posted was quite the was it really should have been

Conveying "ZEL" or even "ZELARON" rather than "Z" is useful for improving our identity and making our community known to others.

I had a go at it.

I like the other ones better. Sorry Chruser.

It looks nice, but it needs a shine on it. If it had some power bulging from it, that would look neat.

Asamin 2008-04-21 08:14 PM

I agree. It needs more pizazz. I don't want to just look at a black Z with a tail when I go on Zel. Make some sparks or something.

I like it but favicon's are generally 16x16 in the address bar and tabs.

Anything other than what we've basically got isn't gonna fit well.

Atnas 2008-04-22 03:57 PM

But if you make it at 32x32 then it gets shrunk down to 16x16 if you have your browser set to display 16x16s.

If you make it at 16x16 think of all those poor 32x32 people. D:

I don't get your logic.

I like Chruser's to be honest.

And I lied, I'm not gonna make one. Too lazy.

WetWired 2008-04-22 05:20 PM

The best part about an icon file is that it can have multiple sizes! The issue, though, is that it needs to be a design that scales well to 16x16, even if there is a 32x32 one made available, since most users will see it at 16x16.

Asamin 2008-04-22 05:29 PM

If you just made one that looked good and was 32X32, It could still look fine at 16X16. I have no problem with it.

Atnas 2008-04-23 02:01 PM

I forgot that I made one when I said I would. XD

For some reason Graphics gale's alpha layer options aren't working, so it's just on a white background.

Wed-G 2008-04-23 03:07 PM

Not bad. I like it.

Although when scaled down, the z isn't so apparent.

Atnas 2008-04-23 03:15 PM

yeah.

I kind of just made a lame G and fixed it up with a non-pixel brush.

If anyone wants to refine it in Photoshop or anything I would <3 you, this time I'm ACTUALLY too lazy.
