I dont know....your mixing a radeon mobo with a nvidia gfx card?

is that radeon xpress 200 any good? if its good I guess i could get a video card a little later, since that one comes built in...

undeadzombieguy 2005-02-15 01:18 PM

They wouldnt offer it on their site if it doesnt work, unless they're jackasses.

that integrated xpress 200 kind of sucks. http://www.tomshardware.com/motherbo...xpress-15.html

You can see how the x600 used in the above benchmarks compares to other cards here http://graphics.tomshardware.com/gra...charts-03.html

Actually, the vid card I recommended is PCI Express...oops! Well, at least I didn't actively recommend a case with a power supply that will catch fire if you look at it the wrong way.

I recommend a 5900se, they overclock easily to regular 5900's, which are still faster than a 9600xt...and cheaper.

I've bought from chiefvalue before, decent store.

Hades-Knight 2005-02-16 01:49 PM

should i get PCI-E mobo or AGP8X?

Mantralord 2005-02-16 06:15 PM

AGP, you can't afford pci-e.

Hades-Knight 2005-02-16 08:17 PM

The PCI mobo in based athlon 64 in that site comes out cheaper than the AGP....lolz?

If it wasnt for financial issues, which would you recommend, AGP8X or PCI-E? (they ont have the gf 5900 se =( )

Mantralord 2005-02-16 08:21 PM

Probably PCI Express...but you'd also need to buy a 939 processor with it, and it will be too expensive.

Agreed. With a 939 you are looking at around 800 bucks for a pc.

Mantra: My cost of the machine was 550. with an extra 40 I could get a nice thermal take case =[ And I have never had one of those cases catch fire.

One more thing. Stay away from 5900s especially the SE edition. They are horrible videocards. a 5600 can out perform one. The 5900s are the most bug infested cards I have ever seen.

Hades-Knight 2005-02-17 08:49 PM

I guess i might go with either the Radeon 9600 XT or Geforce 6200 turbocache

Either way im gettign a 939 mobo instead of 754, I heard that jAMD is not gonna update on 754 anymore so the next chipsets will be on 939

Ok. Well then you wont be going with a 9600 xt. I would say go for the 6600 Ultra. 120 bucks. And its pcie 16x. Ill see if I can build you a system in a few hours. I expect mantra will also.

Hades-Knight 2005-02-18 08:09 PM

Yes I opted for the 6600 128MB PCI-E , the system is gonna come out at around $630 with free shipping ^^, now i gotta save $300 more

Grav 2005-02-18 09:41 PM

This is probably a stupid question, but are you getting a PCIe board?
