some parts of the island are 3.49

others are 3.79.

fuck thisss. My friend just came up from New Jersey, she said gas was 2.50 there.

Thanatos 2008-04-23 09:04 AM

I call bullshit. How is it $1.17 more here than in NJ?

D3V 2008-04-23 09:28 AM

I think your friend was mistaken, lol.

Lenny 2008-04-23 09:49 AM

Nothing strange with that at all.

Old picture from I don't know when (Unleaded is now 107.9, and Diesel is about 116.9), but you get the idea.

Personally I think it strange that petrol is sold in gallons in America. Are the cars not marketed as having tanks that hold so many litres, etc?

osmoses-jones 2008-04-23 12:28 PM

3.59 here damn i wish i had motorcycle

-Spector- 2008-04-23 01:36 PM

3.69 for unleaded

Lenny 2008-04-24 09:33 AM

In two, three days, it's gone up a penny to 108.9p ($8.07). :(

HandOfHeaven 2008-04-24 09:45 AM

$3.49. Damn crude oil prices...

There's a lot of things different about our counrties, like we don't call it petrol, and hell I bet if you asked a good amount of people what petrol is there would only be a 75% rate of them that even know wtf you're talking about. Our gas tanks are measured in gallons, not litres. As well as the marketing shows the MPG of the cars, not MPL. (Miles per gallon/litre)

For example on new cars these stickers are places in the window:

Even though that picture isn't practical (that's a hybrid) most of our cars get in the 15-25 city range and 20-35 highway range.

Anyways, our prices are hovering a bit higher around 3.73 now. ( F$%(U*$C%K )

Kaneda 2008-04-24 12:05 PM

Yup. Whats the mpg like on those old VW vans. I might convert one to a truck for work. Were at 3.45+

D3V 2008-04-24 12:39 PM

Well i'm pretty sure almost all of them are diesel, so relatively okay probably around the 25/30 range. I'd have to see the exact one your talking about.

Lenny 2008-04-29 04:25 PM

109.9p per litre. I'll let someone else work out the conversion, though I'm guessing it will be about $8.10 ish.

Thanatos 2008-04-30 11:22 AM

Went up to $3.75 yesterday - the highest I've ever seen it in my area.

fuck this.

HandOfHeaven 2008-04-30 02:51 PM

Steady at $3.45.

Thanatos 2008-05-08 01:40 PM

$3.85 now...

HandOfHeaven 2008-05-08 02:03 PM

$3.54, guess it's supposed to go up 10 cents by next week too.

Thanatos 2008-05-08 02:13 PM

Supposed to be over $4.00 in my area next week. Gas prices are causing me to become a bum. I don't think I've driven anywhere except to work and back in the past week.

D3V 2008-05-08 03:36 PM

I've actually put my keys down last weekend, as much as it kills me not to drive my poor baby I had to actually ride with my girlfriend around town while we ran arrons, instead of me taking the wheel. What a sad day, gas prices are really ruining my leisure activities.

3.73 here still.

HandOfHeaven 2008-05-09 02:37 AM

*errands*

Thanatos 2008-05-09 07:24 AM

lol he said arrons.

So $3.85 is the highest out of anyone right now? (except Lenny - STFU Brit). Why Indiana? IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.
