[01:35] Draco2003: is it because you get terribly frustrated with something that seems so obvious to you, even though it might not be to the other person?

[01:36] Goodlookinguy: No, the problem is that I have ADHD. So I like to go from one thing to another, and I can't help it. Then I get the people confused.

[01:38] Goodlookinguy: Na, it's different with each case. I enjoy programming so somehow I manage to keep going at it. The thing is, we will pay atention to things, even if it's the wrong things. Like homework for example, I don't care for. So I won't be able to focus on it.

[01:48] Goodlookinguy: Have you done any other languages besides C++ yet?

[01:48] Draco2003: nope

[01:48] Draco2003: I read somewhere that python was a good pre-C++ language

[01:50] Goodlookinguy: I wouldn't suggest starting with C++ unless you can figure out all of the terms or really understand all of the terms beforehand. I think Python could be a good pre-C++ starter. Except that the languages are different. So you would be learning one, then another. Making the journey longer.

[01:56] Draco2003: The parts that get confusing though, is moving from one chapter to another

[01:56] Goodlookinguy: There's a free version of MS Visual 2008 I believe.

[01:56] Goodlookinguy: Well, if it's getting the job done and your not having any real issues, I suppose I shant say anymore.

[01:57] Draco2003: The book says it builds on each previous chapter, but if I just add to the code, it gives errors

[01:57] Goodlookinguy: Well, that's why you're supposed to be learning it, so you don't have errors.

[02:02] Goodlookinguy: I was just wondering if you're getting errors because you're not adding a small piece of code. I had a book back a while ago that was missing "int" at the beggining of the statments. Which always caused errors.

[02:24] Draco2003: I'll post 3.1 too, because it is supposed to be putting the basic windows code into an engine that can be re-used

[02:26] Draco2003: I am assuming it is running basic background checks every game cycle

[02:26] Draco2003: whether or not it is the active program and whether or not the user has decided to end it

[02:28] Goodlookinguy: I see this as being a code tid-bit that I would write, or someones who's been working on C++ for at least 3-4 months would write, that's all. I should show you a good place to learn C++ from.

[02:29] Goodlookinguy: I'm going to suggest here http://www.3dbuzz.com/vbforum/sv_home.php as a place to start from. They go slower, and I believe do a pretty good job teaching people.

[02:30] Goodlookinguy: Also, I was watching their videos. I do notice that they miss putting in "int" a few times. Other than that, they're good.
