I believe that Chrono Trigger is the best game ever, well back in the day it was, and still give me much fun to play it. I origionally bought Chrono trigger when it was out for SNES, man did I spend hours on that game, I had to have played the game all the way through about 20 times, atleast. Then I noticed that Playstation relased the game, which was great because my SNES disappeared. Well, Post back If you like chrono trigger as much as I do.  :) ;) :haha: :( :p

Chrono Trigger for N64
Resurrection Games, Inc. are busy developing a Chrono Trigger game for the N64 Emu. That's right, a Chrono Trigger game. When completed, the game will be available for download over the internet. Only one version will be available to the public. The game is currently weighing in at 28 Megabits and this is without most of the sound effects and 3D art, so it should be much bigger. However, Resurrection reports that if the game size exceeds 32 Megabytes, the only way backup users will be able to play it is with a Doctor 512 Cartridge Emulator or a Nintendo Emulator. The game will feature two modes; a 2D update of the original Chrono Trigger with most of the environments being prerendered or a high-quality 2D remake with 3D spell effects and distortions. This latter mode will run at N64's resolution of 320x240 with sample-point dithering, not pattern dithering, and will run at a constant frame rate of 30 fps (don't you love reporting things you don't even understand?). This 2D mode is approximately 25% completed. The second mode is a new 3D mode. The entire world will be rendered in complete 3D. The perspective will be much like the original Chrono Trigger, but Resurrection is thinking of doing a view similar to Zelda: TOoT. All models are touted to have mip-mapping, different texture sets at different distances, and LOD models. Players will have a choice of running the game in either 320x240 or 640x480. However, the higher resolution mode will require an expansion pack. In case you're wondering, Square and Nintendo apparently don't know about Resurrection's project. They seem to think putting a disclaimer on the game will make the company happy. I don't know about anyone else, but I sense a lawsuit in the works. Infringement is infringment, whether you have a disclaimer or not.

well the last updated date on this article was in 2000 so its prob juts BS

ToD's a great game as well, don't get me wrong. One of the best combat systems I've seen. I consider it only beaten by Arc the Lad in that regard (and FF Tactics, but I don't call that an RPG. )

I'll also give it props for unique characters. They avoided most cliches.

I've played Tales of Phantasia, don't know if that's the same game or not, but I didn't really like it too much.

Yea, you should try ToE(ps1). And they are coming out with ToD II(psx2) it's a sequel to ToD. It's 20 years later. ^.^

They call ToE, Tales of Destiny 2 in North America and, yes, I've played it. Good game. Now I just hope the PS2 one doesn't cause confusion.

Every Radical Dreamers rom I've downloaded doesn't work. Although I have never played, it still sounds like an interesting game, just to see both characters from CT and CC.

Radical Dreamers..... for what system? Never heard of it.

*edit* Also, Shadowrun was a very good game. Just noticed your sig. I loved the intro. You wake up.... in a filing cabinet.... in a morgue. OMFG OWN!

Radical dreamers was only released in japan for some satalite thing on the super famicon or some shit, it sucks, I've played it, don't bother. It's pretty much all text based, with a few pictures.

Sort of. Chrono Cross was based on it.

!King_Amazon!

It came out after Chrono Trigger and before Chrono Cross, and is chronologically in between them I believe.

All the roms I have downloaded of Radical Dreamers, I just get this purple screen, so I wouldn't know anything about it. I heard about it from my bro, who is a CT freak.

BTW, Bob, I actually have never played the Snes game, My sig is from the Action Figure RPG that came out. And Both the game and the AFRPG are based on the Original Paper and Pencil RPG. My friend first told me about the game, I wanna play it, in fact, I'm going to go download it now :).

Chrono Trigger was legendary, Chrono Cross was fucking badass, and the next installment will be unbelievable. Chrono Break, Crystal Chronicles and Sword of Mana are the only Square games I'm really looking forward to.

Invader Jon, Bob, have either of you played the real Shadowrun? It's easily the coolest fucking RPG ever concieved. I'm actually in the process of finishing up the Core Rulebook and the Magic in the Shadows rulebook. The SNES game was actually really loyal to the overall atmosphere and function of the game, but it was based on 2nd edition rules. If you want to find an honest to God RPG that is miles above everything else out there, give the 3rd Edition Core Rulebook a read. The "history" section alone is mesmerizing.

Sort of. It happens before CC, yes, but overlaps it mostly.

Chrono Cross takes place 20 years after the events of Chrono Trigger.. that explains why very few of the characters are around ( one's I've noticed are Glenn [ formerly Frog!! ] and the prophet who built the Epoch [ he and it are in a room under the library, check behind the desk ] )... given that... I don't remember if any of them were in RD or not... I need to find the game and play it again ( When I played it it was before I played CT or CC ) to recall what timeframe it falls under.

Feel free to suggest more.

Medieval Bob
2003-07-19, 07:43 AM
You can't really say a game takes place 20 years after the events of a game where a major, major action is time travelling...

RoboticSilence
2003-07-19, 09:12 AM
I can say it takes place 20 years after the events because that's what it says on the back of the Chrono Cross case.

His sister was too. Her names Schala or something. Also, the Time Devourer is her fused with Lavos. So, in that case, Lavos was in it too.

Omg, I gotta go beat CC again now. It's the pwnage.

Well, I'm sorry. This is the first forum I've ever been on. I mean, come on, give me at least a little bit of slack. I'm new at this. And, are you, like, stalking me, or what? Everything I say, you try to prove wrong. Or should I say, prove me wrong. But that's just 'cause I'm not some video game GURU, and I sometimes might not know what I'm talking about. I'm sorry.
